Solar Land Investment Near Dholera: Dholera Solar Park, Policy and Opportunities

The Dholera region features two distinct kinds of solar-related activity — and it is worth understanding them separately before drawing conclusions. One is a utility-scale solar park; the other is a private giga-factory producing energy equipment nearby. They are connected by location and policy context, but they are different projects serving different purposes.

The Dholera Solar Park is a large-scale solar power project sanctioned under Gujarat's broader renewable energy push. The park represents one of the state's principal contributions to India's solar ambitions, with serious scale behind it.

Separately, Advait Energy Transitions is building a giga-factory near Dholera — a facility focused on battery energy storage and hydrogen electrolysers. While the solar park generates clean power, this factory produces the equipment that stores and manages it.

Phase 1 of the giga-factory has an operational target of Q4 FY27, with a reported order book of approximately Rs 1,600–1,650 crore. The facility is positioned within Gujarat's wider industrial ecosystem, taking advantage of the region's developing infrastructure and logistics.

Gujarat has been among the more active Indian states in developing renewable energy capacity, with dedicated policy frameworks for solar, wind and hybrid projects. The Dholera Solar Park exists within that policy context — the approved 5,000 MW reflects state-level commitment, not just a private venture.

That policy backing matters for the region. It means the solar park has institutional support for power evacuation, grid connectivity and long-term operation — the kind of foundation that sustains activity beyond a construction phase.
